Playing Happy Families

Sup!

So this is Day Two! I'm afraid the highlights of each day are pretty much the same because you don't do anything different at Woodgate. Haha.

Today we pulled out the water sport toys and gave them a splash! My younger brother and I lounged on inflatable pink and blue chairs. The only problem was, they were too narrow so you couldn't balance on top of them in seas any rougher than completely still. This made playing one of our games difficult.

Let me tell you about BONSAI. BONSAI is a game where one person is floating on the inflatable chair and the other person holds them steady in the ocean. The holder waits until the perfect giant dumpy wave and yells out BONSAI and propels the vulnerable floater toward the shore where they get tumble-rolled and pounded into the shore. If they manage to spit out the seawater and get the sand out of their togs, swap places for round two.

(so legit)

Want to play? This game is great fun, I'll have to try and get some footage of it sometime.
Now, when you get bored of playing this game, you do the next most sensible thing. Harass the person in the kayak. If you're on a floaty chair, use your arms like big paddles to move speedily through the water and latch onto the side of the kayak for successful infiltration. Become the parasite!

Unfortunately this game doesn't come without it's dangers. It just so happens that my older brother and I were playing chicken and he was paddling tantalizingly close to me, but just out of my reach.
Then finally, I got him!

He freaked out and started to paddle wildly to escape and loosen my grip. However, instead of paddling the water, he paddled my face. BOOUUNK. The oar collided with my cheek and very successfully loosened my grip on the boat. Well that's one parasite he rid the world of.

My cheek swelled a little and I was so excited to see if I got a big black bruise or something to show you but frankly, it disappointed me. I guess I'm too much of a machine, because it didn't leave much of a visible mark at all. Bummers. It does hurt though!

So, our family relations are highly strung now (kidding) and we've been watching Season Four of Dexter. Which is fantastic, but may or may not be planting murderous ideas in each other's minds. To repair the rift between us, we went on another family walk down the beach.

Little Tia seemed to have taken the brunt of my anger, as I dumped her into the waves to test her instincts as a wild ocean dog. She did alright, but was really cranky.

Happy family, or are we!?
