Looking back doesn't have to be sad!

Do you remember the first day? I remember sitting down next to a much shorter Sarah and feeling ridiculously nervous and awkward. It was probably the only lesson in which we all gave Mrs Dalton our full attention.

Do you remember feeling intimidated and awkward silence when you walked through the Year 12 Quadrangle? Were you a teensy bit excited to intimidate students now it was your turn for the quadrangle, but ended up having a Year 12 Designated Area and loving everyone instead?

Do you remember having to do term rotations of Music, Art and Drama in the early grades? I vividly remember the Body Bags and Shadow Screen in Drama with Mr Parkinson and Mrs Malloy.

Do you remember when we used to sit in the Gully?

Do you remember the time when the bunch of boys from SLC walked into our school through the side entrance and we all got scared of getting in trouble and bailed? Mr Rhue chased them up the hill to Chardons, fairly slo-w-l-y.

Do you remember our groundskeeper? By the end of our schooling, we came to love him so dearly.

Do you remember when we had SOR with Mrs 'Boyle' in the old D Block with the ramp onto the veranda? She would give us a quiz on Mary Mackillop and none of us knew the answers and sat in frightened silence avoiding her gaze.

Do you remember Home Ec with Mrs Martin and Mrs Gleeson? Mrs Martin cared about us so much, she would have nightmares about our pillows being eaten by the over locker and Mrs Gleeson always told us about how she sewed her pants herself, because nobody stocked pants for her proportions.

Do you remember the limitless hours Mr Daly put into school by cheerfully staying back after school to run some more tests and record more results for your assignment?

Do you remember Mrs Black telling you to only pour a little bit of paint out, onto those square paper paint pallets and getting upset when paint went to waste? I think everybody loved playing with the clay.

Do you remember one of our earliest English homework assignments was to draw a hybrid creature, and I spent a ridiculously long amount of time drawing a detailed horse - something. It was nice when we could spend limitless time on perfecting homework instead of rushing it the period before the class.

Do you remember the office ladies and the countless times you asked them to borrow money for a bus, or to ring home? Bless them, I found my Irish Blessing today when I was tidying my room.

Do you remember the, "Thank God You're Here", spoof that was run in the Drama Room where Miss Kennedy wore the uniform and at first glance you though she was just another student?

Do you remember how hot the Church was for full school assemblies and how we were told that, "Your hats are not fans"?

Do you remember Mrs Hardy! Man, she scared lots of us.

Do you remember the very first assembly in the Church where you wore a heavily ironed itchy uniform and stone hard hat and stood in silence while the school sung the school song?

Do you remember losing your badges and lanyard and desperately asking if anyone had a spare when you saw the random uniform check coming to your PC?

Of course you remember the long hard battle we fought with the teachers to let our fringes hang where they belong, and for our deliberately cut bangs to cover our ears. Duh.

That's all I could think of for now, It's time for bed now. Or Facebook, or apply for some more jobs online. Ouf.
